Do I really need hydraulic disc brakes or can I just stick with mechanical disc's.
This is for urban and DJ I'm only putting on a back brake.

A mechanical disk brake is PLENTY... but some of us just run hydros. it all depends on the kind of dough you want to dish out and what your style of riding is (ie. how often do you use your brakes and for what)

I would suggest BB5s or BB7s for mechanical

The BB5 and 7's are Avids?

The cool setup that I've seen is a bmx lever paired with a Avid BB7 ROAD disk brake. I imagine you could do it with a BB5 ROAD as well. I have the normal V lever set up and its really powerful, perhaps to much. I had a juicy and sold it after one ride, way to much.
