I just purchased a RockShox Reba Team and was wondering if I have to use the PopLoc remote. It appears the compression adjustment is spring loaded and can't be adjusted without the remote. I would prefer not to use it remote - any thoughts? THX
You can skip the remote, but you are correct, the compression knob will only snap back to open without it due to the spring. Disassembling the MC unit to disable the spring is apparenty not much fun. I don't know much about the Poplock version (both of my Pikes are sans poplock remote) but you may be able to lift the knob off the fork and put a pice of rubber or foam under it to creat enough friction to keep the knob from turning under spring tension.
