Do fox forks ship with no grease on wiper seals?

Just installed my brand new fox 38's today and couldnt help but notice they felt slightly notchy and "dry" feeling. It almost feels like there is no grease on the wiper seals.
Is this common?

I have never observed any grease on any new Fox fork wiper seals. However, it's easy enough to turn them upside down and get the foam rings soaked or apply some fork oil or Fox Float fluid on the stanchions.

^this.

Forks usually use no grease on the wiper seals (maybe some on the air shaft). They should come with enough oil, but some observed that this is not always true. In doubt, open the fork and check for yourself (or have someone to do that for you).

Just lowers oil. No grease. Give it some time to break in

It's good practice to take apart a new fork to make sure it has the correct amount of oil, and with Fox to scoop out all the grease clogging the port.

I have yet to see a Fox fork ship with proper amounts of oil and without a massive gob of grease on top of the air shaft. Fresh out of the gate I do a lower service on any Fox fork I own or if any of my riding buddies gets a new Fox fork.

My 36 came with little grease on the air side and the foam rings were completely dry
I'll pull the lowers on all my new forks. The amount of oil in the lower legs can be hit or miss. Some seem to be fine...and some had very little oil come out when I pulled the lower legs.

This was the air side of my 34.

Lol my old pike had virtually zero oil in it when I received it
2021 Factory 36. Foam rings totally dry. Too much grease on the air shaft.
^^^^ Did it contain proper fluids?

Your statement eludes to no fluids? Is that correct?
