Directions to trails

Hi everyone,

I'll be visiting family in Delaware for 3 weeks in August and would like to get some riding in while I'm there.

Where's a good place to get driving directions to all the different trails in eastern PA? Here's a list of the places I want to check out (so far):

Jim Thorpe
French Creek State Park
Wissahickon Valley
Fell Mountain
Blue Marsh trail
Jacobsburg State Park

Are there any books or websites that offer good, up-to-date directions? There's a paid site (www.trailsource.com) but I don't know if they offer directions to the trails (as opposed to directions around the trails and trail maps, which they provide).

Any input would be appreciated. Also, if you know any other good riding within 3-4 hour drive from Philadelphia, please let me know.

Thanks.

Just let me know from where in Delaware you are going to be staying. Don't forget Fair Hill in Maryland and Middle Run/White Clay Creek in Delaware. What type of trails are you looking to ride?
Anything goes

I'll be staying near Newark, DE. I don't know what the official name of the area is (whether it falls under Wilmington or Newark), but it's along Limestone Rd./Hwy. 7.

Actually I rode Fair Hill and Middle Run last summer, when I was visiting DE. I rode Brandywine Park once as well. I went to Wissahickon twice but both times didn't get to ride it because of mechanical problems early in the ride.

I'm basically looking for good, fun single-track. A mix of smooth rolling single-track with technical sections would be ideal, but I realize that some places offer more of one than the other - that's why I want to ride as many different places as I can. Roots, rocks, logs...I'll take whatever doesn't kill me.

The bottom line is that I don't want to waste time with obscure directions, so that's what I'm looking for.

Get this book. It is as good a ref as I have found. French Creek is about as good a time and is right off PA RT76 Morgan town exit. The book has detailed trail routes that are very good. It was written by a real experienced rider and the ratings are very accurate.
