Anyone know if there is any significant difference between 2011 x7 and x9 9spd shifters? My x7's seem sluggish and difficult to operate. Any suggestions before buying a set of 2011 x9's? My rig is pretty much brand new and shifter/cable operated smooth with rear der. removed.

Not a tremendous difference between X7 and X9, I've had both and currently run X7 10 speed stuff, all 2011, and it works great. I had no discernable difference riding them back to back honestly.
I'd check the tension in your cable to the der, make sure your lines are clean, etc. before swapping shifters.

Sluggish shifting is an indication of cable drag. There is zero mechanical difference between the X7 and X9 shifters.

Try new cables and housing before getting new shifters. Should solve the problem.

I thought the x9 and x0 had the double click zero loss upshift and a more direct mechanical feel than x7.

Pulled the cable and applied some RockNroll cable jizz. Like butta! Ill pass on the x9's.

This was true for the pre-2011 models. But for the 2011 models, X7 has the same zero loss as X9 and X0.
