i have a 5' salty with the standard shock 200x50 mm, but it have a little high bottom bracket.

if i put a 190x50 mm shock what happens?

is a good idea?

Bad Idea.

If you do this the seat stay yoke will hit the seat tube.

I know it's obvious, but have you tried just running more sag?
