Anyone know if Fox actually made a DHX in a 8.5x2.75" version. They don't list that size on their website, but I have heard that they made that size specially for specific bikes. This true? I'm running an 8.5x2.5" DHX 5.0 now, but an 8.5x2.75" would actually be the perfect size/stroke for my project bike.
The Specialized website lists the 2007 Demo 7 I as having 7" of travel and coming with a 8.5x2.75" Fox DHX 4.0. It also lists the Demo 7 II as having 7" of travel but coming with a 8.5"x2.375" Fox DHX 5.0. Was this perhaps a typo? or is the 8.5x2.75" Fox DHX 4.0 right for the Demo 7 I? Anyone know if Fox ever made the DHX in this size for sure? Thanks in advance.

Stupic question, have you ever opened the airsleeve on your current shock to see if it has a black travel reduction spacer that's a 1/4" thick installed?

Sometimes you never know how they build these up until you get inside them.

Not sure on all the details, but that one really odd size listed for Demo 7 could be due to the travel spacer they came with stock (that was easily removed... making a Demo 7.5 or sumthin).
