Now that the PUSH mod for the DHX Coil is finally available, I've got a question: Will the Factory Tuning System change the Boost Valve in any way? The reason I'm asking is that the Boost Valve on the stock DHX limits high speed flows even with very low IFP pressures. I end up having to run 70psi in the IFP, with the ProPedal dial set to minimum to keep the rear end from lifting when riding through rooty sections at high speed. In the beginning I thought it was the compression shim stack, so I tuned the stack a little softer, but it made surprislingly little difference.

The Swinger 4-Way can be set up to have a much firmer platform, and yet opens up much better when hitting large, square impacts. Never mind that the 4-Way has a really unsophisticated rebound...

Factory vs Factory Race

The Factory Tuning System retains the Boost Valve function. The Factory Race System removes the Boost Valve. I want the ability to tune low speed compression damping and/or low speed platform, but as the DHX currenly is, the whole Boost Valve setup doesn't work very well. It gives a platform, but it doesn't allow for enough oil flow during sharp impacts. Maybe a weaker Boost Valve spring with more preload would do the job. It would give the same platform, but would require less force to open it a certain amount... Or thinner oil, with the appropriate shim stack.

From what I can gather, the rebound on the 4-Way has a coil spring controlling the high speed part of the rebound. This spring is way too stiff, causing most riders to only get low speed damping. The result is that you have to run the low speed adjuster way fast to get a shock that will work well at high speeds, making the bike feel nervous at slower speeds. If you run the adjuster so that the shock feels slow and controlled, it will pack up when going fast. I believe TFTuned replaces the spring with a softer one.
