Hello, I am new to this sport and just recieved a Specialized Hard Rock Comp FS bike. Is there a way to tell the year of the bike? Serial number maybe? Thanks for any info.--Kevin

If you could post a picture, that would get you an answer for sure.
Specialized Hard Rocks are like VW bugs...lots of them over the years.

Eric's right, take pictures but be sure to get some detailed shots of the derailleurs. That will help a-lot. Us vintage guys like this kinda thing. It makes us feel like were on the show CSI

I have Specialized catologs back to 1988, Just post a pic and a list of componets and I should be able to tell you.

Thanks for the replies. I bought the bike off ebay (Im a newbee so I am not sure but it seeed like a good deal to me compared to the 100.00 department store bikes.) Here is a link to the pics. I know they are not really detailed but maybe someone can tell enough to idea the bike. Thanks for any info. here is the link

Your Specialized Hard Rock Comp FS is a 1999 model. Looks like it has all stock componets. You got a deal!
