Noobie question, but how do you determine the stem length and rise of a headshok stem? Is there a code on the stem (somewhere I cannot see?) and if I need to measure it what are the need-to-knows - point to point and angle determination?
What year model is it? For the last few years, they marked the stems with what looks like a serial number but it's actually the sizing code. Let's say you see a small number like 10005318...it means a 100mm stem, 5° with a 31.8mm handlebar diameter. On the bolted on stems, it was close to the steerer pinch bolts, on the stem-steerer combos, it was on the top around the steerer, under the plastic top cap. Not sure where they write it on the new OPI stem-steerers.
If you can't find it: length is measured from the centerline of the steerer to the centerline of the handlebar. The angle is measured from it's side obviously, a 0° stem actually has a 90° angle between the stem's main tube and the steerer tube. a 95° angle means a +5° stem and so on.
