Every once in a while someone posts a video of a department store mountain bike meeting its maker by some poor sap riding it above and beyond its intended purpose (which basically means sidewalks).

Well here's another example:

The photographer is obviously quite an idiot (and uses some rough language to boot) but scientifically, this is quite a show for anyone thinking of going big on a cheapie.

That kid is lucky his face and teeth are still in tact. someone should tell him when he goes to get a new bike to pick up a helmet too.

I know we are all tough mothers here, but I don't think the recipient could quite see the joke, poor little bastard. The closest they came to sympathy was exclaiming about the bike.

Having said that, I still feel guilty about the way we treated one kid years back when he did the best jump of all of us and lost it....teenagers....

PS If this was his first real fall, the kid popped is cherry.
If he's a real biker, he probably couldn't wait to get another
bike and hit that same jump again. And again. And again.
Until he landed that female dog right.

Get up, take the mockery of your friends, channel that,
and take that jump again kid!

Like I did when I'd wipeout!

I'd really like to see that kid make that jump.

It's a life lesson.

A test.

But, I give him props for taking the jump.

Good set there son!

I used to do these outrageous jumps with my
KMart Huffy BMX bike until I cracked everything
on it.

One of my rich friends traded me a PK Ripper
for my cheap department store bike because
I had heart.

The thing about the OP's situation was that the guy was very young, and was doing anything that he knew was really stupid.
