What ever happened to the following companies: Cooks Brothers, Nishiki, Shogun, Muddy Fox, and Nukeproof? Just curious?

-cook brothers- I believe the info is in the 'cook bros thread to end all...' thread. In the end, they're making more money doing fabricating or whatever for other industries & not supporting cycling anymore.

-nukeproof succumbed... to the downfall of many small companies in the mid-late 90's.

no idea on the others.
I think Nishiki must have sold their name to a Scandinavian group.

I see 'Nishiki' bikes all the time in Sweden, unfortunately they're mostly just run-of-the-mill cheapo bikes, no elevated chainstays to be seen...

Isn't that a good thing?

:D Maybe you have a point there.....

Still I liked the square tubes
Nukeproof was bound to fail. Their hubs blew. I had a set so I know.

They were light, gotta give them that.

Here, here are some square tubes from a company who's name I shall not speak but is near and dear to my heart...but they never went that route to e-stay silliness.

What was that British bike w/square tubes...Pace? Yep, Pace it is. I've not seen one in person, only in mags & forums.

Nukeproof died after they tried doing a run of blue superfly hubs specifically for one online store (Airbomb... not the wisest choice to save your company with the WORST online dealer of the period) and then as it happens, when nukeproof tanked, airbomb apparently bought the rights to the name and started slapping it onto all manner of cheap housebrand parts.
