I live in an area with lots of flowers and trees, and every year my allergies makes me miserable. I hate getting shots, so my brother suggested I buy a jar of locally-made honey and take a tablespoon of it every day. And it works. The local bees make honey from local flowers that people are allergic to, and eating the honey helps build an immunity to it. Does anyone else have allergies that are remedied with local honey? This spring was our worst year for pollen, and I didn't even get sick.

Yes....the shaman's in the Amazon region of Peru use honey to treat a variety of allergic reactions, as well as seasonal allergies. I have a bike tour shop in Peru where we sell a lot of homeopathic Rx's such as honey, right next to the Zyrtec. For whatever reasons, we can never keep enough honey in stock. ;)

Speaking (typing?) of allergies, what are your symptoms? I have a"full" head, I can feel my heartbeat in my ears, and I have flu-like symptoms but I don't have a runny nose or itchy eyes. Sound like allergies or something else?

Gonna try the honey anyway. Gotta get some before all the bees die.
