For prices check their website for suggested retail, then find a dealer and negotiate, 2006 are now arriving so you can expect clearance prices. They have 4 models for 2005. My advice get the 2.0 or 3.0. I have a 2004 2.0, bough the frame and fork, built it up from there. Great bike, suspension is very tuneable, for 2005 they upgraded the fork to a minute 3. Good climber and with the adjustable min 3, better . But she really shines going down, feels more than 5 inches, you can adjust the bottom out resistance and progressiveness of the shocks so it's great. I weight around 175 and have the settings soft and have never bottomed out Rails corners and feels very stable, because of the SPV, tracks the terrain very well at high speeds. I have a Spec enduro and the Jamis just feels more capable, the only two cons ( and they are relative) is bumpy terrain, when braking you can feel the rear suspension stiffening a little (at least compared to the enduro) not that it'a a big issue, friends of mine that do not have the expierence on fsr bikes do not notice it and you get used to it and adjust your technique. The other is that it has a bit low bottom braket, so if you ride technical semi-flats with many rocks, it can be a little tricky, on the other hand the low height adds to the stable feel and you learn to coordinate your pedaling in order to avoid obstacles. For 2006 they redesigned the rear triangle, I don't like it thou. The rear chain stay on mine (and many others 2004) craked, but it was replaced with a redesigned 2005, which looks more stout. Other that this, if you find a great deal go for it, as far as I'm concerned, nothing beats the price/parts/value ratio of the XLT.minman07 said:
