Got Mine

Rode my 2011 B2 today for the first time. This thing floats on sand like nothing I've ever ridden .The rear suspension is great, no bobbing. The White Bros. Loop also worked great, the damping adjusters work but felt sloppy I love the 2x10, breaks are incredible,
Looks more trail-bikish. I worked for a Jamis dealer for a while as a mechanic. I wish they would make a short-travel race-worthy frame in 650b.
ditto to that......no worries......I am banging that drum hard at Jamis...

Keep it up. Jamis is doing a great job so far!

Cheers,

KP
I remember getting news of their first 650b offering. It was based on the Dakar Team frame, which was short travel and very quick. My coworker had a carbon version. That would be a very fast, efficient frame. I got very excited for the new offering, but they ditched the light little frame for the heavier "trail bike" frame.

And "Trail bike" is a term that makes me cringe when I hear it.
I'm currrently deployed to Afghanistan and plan to buy a B2 this summer when I get home. I have not seen any reviews on the web yet, so any information you can give on the bikes performance would be appreciated.

650B2 Review

Hi, Rob here from Jamis Bicycles. First, I'd like to thank you for your serving our country and hurry back so you can get riding! :)

There will be several major publications offering reviews for our 650B platform. Offhand, I can tell you Mountain Bike Action and Dirt Rag will have reviews out soon. I believe there are a few other's as well both web and print.

We are extremely proud of how far we have come with this platform. One ride and you will see what I'm referring to. We have to give props to White Brothers for going above and beyond in completely revamping their fork platform and bring a 650B compliant fork to market. They have a lot to be proud of with their new Loop fork. X-fusion has also been working very hard to offer a 650B compliant fork as well. So far initial testing with the X-Fusion has been very positive as well.

Not sure where you call home but, I'm based in Philadelphia and will have a size run of 650B's to offer first hand impressions to interested parties.

So, if your in the Mid-Atlantic region and want to go for a ride, drop me a PM and we'll make it happen.

Best,
Rob

Thanks for the feed back, I look forward to the reviews. I live in Las Vegas and my local is JT's Bicycle in Henderson. The owner rides an XCT3 and I was very impressed with his bike. I can't wait to get this bike when I get home, its will be 14 months without riding and I am going nuts.

Rob - a couple of questions:
Can the B1 be had as a frame set? I really like the anno gray.

Can you get just the frame, w/o the fork?

Are you working out of a specific shop? I am also in the Philly area and would like to check out / demo one of them.
