The Spirit of Surf City

We (Velo Bella and Roaring Mouse Cycles) will be putting on a Halloween Cross Race, both because Halloween and cross are a match made in heaven, and to keep the spirit of Surf City alive.

We will be using all the same infrastructure as the Surf City series. Same venue (Watsonville), same results personnel, same Jeff Clark (Who has been involved with Surf City since its inception), we are consulting with Jenny and Nicole on all the details. I wish we could have picked up the whole series, but I am already overcommitted as it is. My hope is that we keep the infrastructure alive long enough so that next season maybe several teams come together and each take on one race and put the series back together again. This is the model used with great success in the Mid Altantic and New England series.

We'll bust out with more info as we gather it. But you can expect the same Surf City high standards of course design and fast results, along with a lots of Bella Halloween (bellaween?) fun.

So, tentatively the race is schedule for Oct 31 at Watsonville fairgrounds with a clinic the day before. This will be a USCF race, so we will have to figure out ways of forcing more than one dismount while only using one barrier per the new USCF rules.

Oh, and I can't log on to RBR for some reason. Can someone cross post this info on the above referenced thread?

Redwood Cyclocross Series

...will kick off Halloween night (Oct. 31) under the lights at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds in Eurkea. Racing begins with the 30-minute race at 4pm. It'll be dark by the time the 45-minute begins at 5pm. 60-Minute race will be at 6:15. Yeah, there WILL be a costume contest.

The rest of the series is still being finalized. But it will be a 4-race series running until mid-January. We'll have one more Redwood Acres race, one at Hiller Park in McKinleyville, and after a 1-year hiatus, the finals will be back at the Almquist Lumber Mill in Arcata.

As always Team Bigfoot events are non-NORBA / Non-USCF...so we can put as many barriers as we feel like. Heck, we might event run a flaming hoop if the mood strikes us!
:D Entry fee is $15 per event. It's a point series with a schwag raffle at the finals...one raffle ticket for every series point earned.

We'll post the full schedule at the usual places and on our website as soon as we have it all finalized. www.teambigfoot.net
