Cycling recovery time from a vasecotomy

Doc says after a week you can resume physical activites, but may be in moderation for 'a while'. but realistically what is the recovery time to be able to do 2 hr hammer fests & all day rides? is a 8 hr race 6 weeks out an absolute no no?

Is it a week off then a light week, then rebuild the legs cause teh discomfort is no longer an issue or is this something that should only be done in Nov-Feb?

I'm not a serious racer so performance is not really a factor. no matter what I do I'm gonna be mid pack sport. I do it for fun.

Thanks

8hr race in 6 weeks should be doable unless there are complications.
Mine took 4 weeks until I rode like normal....frozen pea bags., and rest
I did have an excercise bike at home
You should be able to be back in the saddle after two weeks for an easy ride and within a month riding like normal. Enjoy those Percocets!
I was riding at regular pace one week after, but I did take a weeks vacation after the procedure and did not get out of the lazy boy for 4 days. Had a friend ride 3 days later (60 miles) and then spent 3 weeks off of the bike.

Yep that's what the vasectomy is for  :p
mine took 10 days before I was comfortable on the bike
You didn't ride home ? :D
I was back on my bike after a week, but couldn't ride like normal (intensity and duration) for about a month. Felt like I'd been kicked in the balls for 2 solid weeks, and the percocets didn't make the pain stop, they just made me not care.
you've just lost your manhood, you can only aspire to become a roadie now

They weren't cut off man.....it makes humping everything in site baby safe. :)
whatever you do, make sure that your old lady helps clean out the pipes. that should be an exhibit-A for the wife to sign on the consent form.

+1
I must be a wimp b/c I was in the lazy boy for 3 days with ice and couldn't stand up straight for 8 days. Still got a big ugly purple puddle in the bottom of my goody bag. I only got loritabs and they made me sick so I just tuffed it out and threw those suckers away. Thank God for ibuprofen. No biking for about a month. Don't get in a hurry. You will regret it.
