Hi guys, I recently went to cut down my hayes 9 cable due to it being way to long. From the instructions on the hayes website all you need is a new bushing but I cannot seperate the the bushing/hose insert from the threaded nut.. Its like they are fused together and from what I am reading the nut should slide down the cable and then I would just need to install a new bushing/insert and then I am good to go. Does anyone have a trick on how to seperate these 2?

Cut the hose flush with the nut & remove the hose pulling out. If the nut was over tightended it can be squeezing the hose causing it to flair inside the nut. Didn't have a old hose but this is what it looks like beccor it turns into a boa constrictor on your hose. :D
