So I'm in need of some advice-

My HT has a massively long head tube, and coupled with the stack height of my stem the steer tube needs to be somewhere between nine and ten inches.

I'm trying to find a 120 mm or so fork that has a steer tube that long- seems like I'm SOL. The brand new forks seem to offer more travel than I want, at a cost that's more than I want to spend. Were it not for the crazy length of the head tube, a used zoke or fox would be perfect. I see great deals on the OEM forks and the like, but having been installed on regular sized bikes, the steerers are all cut down.

Can I get a new steer tube put on a fork (searched the forum, came up with not much) and would it be ridiculously expensive?

Thanks a lot for your help, I thought that marzocchi would do that but wasn't sure. I guess I also should have mentioned that I'm a clyde (6'3" 250) and so most new forks that would be burly enough to be confidence-inspiring are way expensive or offer more travel than I'm looking for. The search for an '02 or '03 Z or the like is on.

I currently have a Z1 Freeride w/ a 9" steer tube on my XL SC Bullit. I will likely be selling it soon not sure what you want to spend on a fork.

Hmm, that's just what I'm looking for. I am, however, in the middle of a move and having to scratch up some cash for tuition so it would likely be a couple of weeks. I very much appreciate the attempt to hook an mtbr brotha' up, but i may not have the scratch for a little while. PM me when you're close to selling it.
