Hello All,

I am thinking of getting out of the -25 degree weather up here in Steamboat Springs. What is the riding like down in Moab right now. Any moisture on the Trails?

Moab is cold but a good chunk of the riding is fine. I did Amasa yesterday and except for the 1/10 mile ice slick on the Kane Creek Road (just before the trail starts), and the ice on the creek crossing, the trail was in perfect shape. Posion Spider and Gold Bar are also OK. I'm guessing that Sovereign is fine too. Porcupine is still too snowy at the top.

We have had much much less snow than Fruita / GJ.

I just rebuilt my Nomad. wonder if the wife will let me make the drive out for the night to rage Sov or Slick.
I asume that Silckrock is good to go as well?

anyone in Colorado now is dying to get out of CO so we can ride some dirt and not snow or ice. I can't wait to get out there in about 3 weeks. You should come.

Fyi..

Was in town over the weekend. Sovereign is in fine shape except for the few north facing sections. Poison Spider is great, the sand is about as rideable as it'll ever get. White Rim...., read the blog (below) for the unique hazards this time of year.

I have been eyeing the weather in moab for like three weeks, waiting for some good temps, is this the weeekend?

I'd say so. A week of sun will have done the trails some good. Nights are cold, but the Motel 6 is $35 a night.

The trails and weather was great we did not ride Porc, but there was pretty much no snow on baby steps (kinda high) or the top of amasa back-head out!!
