Anyone been on the AZT or the dirt roads in this area lately?
Seems like it's been relatively a dry season. Are the trails full of mud? Thinking of riding in that area this weekend. slight chances of rain are forcast, but doesn't look like anything major.

I've been out there quite a bit lately for work and the roads are bone dry. There is some mud and snow on the AZT above 8500 ft but its still rideable.

Scott & Eszter just rode the AZT through there & didn't mention anything of note on their 750 tour.
indeed, their tour was not noteworthy.
:ciappa:

would also like a gpx if you find something noteworthy, Chongo.

Sounded like things 'got real' at the South Rim for them.

I uploaded the Flagstaff to Grand Canyon OnB .gpx to the library a while ago, it's still there for the taking.

It's basically AZT heading north & forest roads & some pavement heading south. (the pavement section can be avoided if you want to stay on dirt roads, we were a bit pressed for time at the end of the ride)

Thanks John! I forgot you and Ray and some others had done that ride. It's between this and the Coco Casner ride that Ray shared with me last year.
