I dig trails!

Roughly 40 volunteers and trail building pros rebuilt or refined several sections of the upper Culvert Trail in Auburn on Saturday, April 5th.

It was a great combined effort between FATRAC, Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, Auburn Trail Alliance, Auburn State Recreation Area, Auburn Bike Works, Auburn Bike Park, and many hardworking volunteers!

We had a few challenges in the form of seeping water from the ground in some of the turns due to the rain the day before. But that also allowed us to identify and solve some problem spots with good drainage.

We also trimmed back foliage throughout the trail for better sight lines.

The turns are better than ever, and the trail runs great.

A confirmation run after the full day of work was sweetness.

And the after work BBQ hosted by Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship and Auburn Bike Works was tasty and fun!

Thanks to everyone who organized, hosted, supported, and got their hands dirty to make a very good trail great!

It was a lot of work digging dirt, but it was also a huge lift just to be able to workers out on the trail.

Thanks to everyone!
