Hi,
Can ayone tell me what is the rear triangle outside measure as shown on picture for the CS197? Right where the pedals pass. The measure on the picture is about 185mm, but is an example frame.

Hope someone can help me, need to know what crankset I can use...

ive got a Raceface Turbine with 175mm cranks for a 100mm BB in mine. Plenty of crankarm clearance to throw in spacers on either side.
So you have one? Can you please measure?
I already have a new truvativ stylo fat5 dub carbon crankset that I want to use, it is 181mm between inside of crankarms. It is too narrow to fit the FM 197, so I am considering buying a CS197 if it is more narrow.

That seems highly odd, as in maybe not a fat 5 but actually fat 4. I can’t get to mine today, maybe tonight.

The SRAM/Truvativ Fat 4 and Fat 5 cranks have the same Q-factor, for the Stylo Carbon it’s listed as 204.5. The centerline to the inside face of the crank distance is listed as 89.5, or 179 total, which again is the same for the Fat 4 or 5, and matches the OP’s measurement of 180. The only difference between the Fat 4 and 5 is the offset of the chainring.

But, still, the OP needs an actual measurement of a CS-197 to determine if the crank will work!

Good luck!

I just measured my CS197 where the crankarms pass, and I'm getting right around 170, but 172mm max.
I'm having to measure a little higher up, since my wheel is in the way, but it's a 27.5 so it's just barely in the way, so about 15mm further from the BB I get a rough 175, I have a chainstay protector on one side and I'm not taking my wheel off, so it's hard to be super accurate. Size L.

The cheapo headset I used when building my bike is creaking already. Can anyone recommend a headset for the CS197 that they have had good luck with?
Don't have any headset creaking, that's one of those things too where the noise can be the result of a lot of different issues and you think it's the headset. But it's literally just the bearings, so you can go to a shop and match the bearing with a CC or whatever.
