what adjustments did you attempt??Nikhil42 said:I lubed it before i started tuning. And yes, it's a slight grinding sound that is consistent. This is the first time I've messed with a derailleur.
On the shifter?Nikhil42 said:I don't see the barrel adjuster on the derailleur... I have the Deore XT.
I thought that's only supposed to be used for fine tuning after getting the derailleur mostly adjusted?JPark said:On the shifter?
It's where cable adjustments are made. Screws on derailleur adjust high and low stop points only.Nikhil42 said:I thought that's only supposed to be used for fine tuning after getting the derailleur mostly adjusted?
uh oh... I think I adjusted them correctly, before I did the pulley wasn't correctly aligned with the sprocket.JPark said:Yes, it should. Also, if you didn't already move screws on derailleur, don't. These are adjusted upon instalation and should not need to be adjusted again unless something gets bent. If adjusted wrong, can cause serious damage to driveline.
Which way should I turn it?JPark said:If it is only in the biggest cog, then it likely is the H limit screw.
