I'm not sure where to post this question, but will a crome springer front end off a ladies Schwinn Classic Cruiser fit on my aluminum framed men's Trek Cruiser Classic? A friend gave me the ladies Schwinn. It has a damaged rear wheel. Other than that it's in great condition.

They need to have the following in common:

1) Steerer tube diameter (1" or 1&1/8" usually).

2) Steerer tube length. The new fork steerer tube needs to be as long (or longer) than the one it is replacing.

3) Accept the same type of headset (threaded or threadless).

You may need to consider the brakes too. Does your Trek have cantilever brakes on the fork? I bet the springer fork does not. If that's the case, you would have to give up the front brakes.
