Running a non-ust crossmark 2.25 on my front wheel and a kenda nevegal ust in the rear. I don't like the nevegal, so I'm considering a 2.1 non-ust crossmark and running front and rear tubeless.

Wheelset is mavic crosstrail ust. Anyone running these tires tubeless with good success?

Unless it's a tubeless ready tire sanctioned by the manufacturer I wouldn't do it. There's a reason they're not UST but called tubeless ready...

UST rims aren't very good for converting non-UST tires. A rim strip alla stan's or split-tube-less (ghetto) would probably help a bunch. That or get a UST (read: boat anchor) crossmark. Maxxis doesn't do "tubeless ready."

I am running a non UST Maxxis Ignitor on the front with a Mavic SLR rim...

No problems at all...it does need Stan's.....

I also have run it on my Shimano UST XTR wheelset as well

I have run CrossMarks as tubeless on both 26 and 29 CrossMax rims with no problems. Watch your pressure if you have the Exception Series models. Those sidewalls are very thin and more susceptible to pressure differences.
