Help w/ spring lengths on 03 Vanilla

I bought a used Vanilla fork sometime ago. The seller shipped it to me with two extra springs in the box. One spring is 240mm long, the other spring is 200mm long.

My question is are both springs on a Vanilla fork the same length? Or is the right leg spring (damping rod side) shorter than the left leg side?

I can only think that the previous owner pulled out the original damping rod spring and stuck a longer one. THis is the only logical solution I can think of why there is a shorter spring in the box.

Any help greatly appreciated. I really don't won't to take my other Vanilla apart to verify the spring lengths.

Yep, different

Okay, pulled my own fork apart that I bought from Larry. It seems that the damper side spring is shorter.
Does anybody know how to get the top part of the damping cartridge off so I can switch the spring out from my ebay fork? Saw on Enduro Fork website how you can loosen it with a 12mm cone wrench, but will this allow disassembly.
ANd the seller said he didn't know what was wrong with the fork.
Ebay=Beware

THanks
