Looks good.
You need rim tape.
You need rim tape.
As I mentioned, although only single unit prices are listed for some items like wheels, tires, tubes and brakes, the total was calculated using two of these items. Thanks for the heads-up on the E-type derailleur. Found SLX front that will do the job.velopax said:Looks good...but:

And the S7 FD doesn't fit...you need a Shimano E-Type FD :skep:
I've used Gripshifters, but I don't care for them. I shift my Sram X5 triggers just fine with big gloves on so I don't think it will be an issue. Thanks for the idea!SDmfG said:If you are going to be riding in winter, you may want to consider grip shift, since it would be easier to use with gloves/mittens.
Would regular tubes work in such a big tire? What's my best alternative to the Endomorph tube?MiniTrail said:+ 1 gripshift

Thanks for the idea on the proper SS hub. I was reading Sheldon Brown, and he put an SS hub on his in case he busted an RD or hanger, he would swap the wheels, shorten the chain (which isn't that hard), and go. Either way, it's not that big a deal, because I would probably rarely do that.aljee said:here is a thread discussing the tube options for endos:

i'll recommend that you use a ss specific hub, if you want ss, instead of the xt hub. it will make for a stronger wheel. switching them out will be a pain, since you will have to deal with chain length, unless you can use the RD as a tensioner (not sure if that works).
I agree that it wouldn't be very hard to shorten the chain. My strategy to alleviate this was to go alfine, which is costly. but I liked the idea of swapping to my fixed wheel on a whim (you have to like that idea a lot though - $$).lieselhelmut said:Thanks for the idea on the proper SS hub. Crap. I didn't see they weren't available.timroz said:Shipping?
Jenson USA does not have the frames. Check availability.
Add $230 to your price and get one from Webcyclery?
Grip shift gets harder to work with tired / cold hands. Triggers or thumb shifters are better IMO.
That is a bloody brilliant idea.sean salach said:For shortening the chain, just run two powerlinks, with one set to the correct SS chain length. Then simply disconnect, remove the offending portion of chain, remove the RD if you want, and run it SS.
