OK ... I just got my 2014 Santa Cruz Tallboy LT. It is great.... I have noticed that when I go down hill and shift to a higher gear to go faster...that there is a creaking going on on what seems to be the rear cassette or derailleur. It does not happen until I get to shifting in the higher gears..... it gets louder as I get closer to the 10th .... what can that be?

Could be the bottom bracket needs to be tightened or greased. Also it could be the freehub body. I think the kid across the street had a creak and the shop finally figured it out and torqued the freehub body.

It also might be the cassette moving on the freehub, or cogs in the cassette itself. A little grease on the freehub body or wick some lube in interfaces of the cassette. If you're poking the BB, you might as well check the chainring bolts, they can be culprits as well.
