sorry if this is in the wrong forum... but i didnt know where else to put it----
this what im working with...and i have just contacted the crankbros about it as well but i figured id post it.... maybe someone else hada similar problem and could tell me how they fixed it....
ive switched the pedal body, bearings (both) and nut that bolts it on to the main pin thing....
nico... I just got a pair about 2 weeks ago and they both spin just like your bad pedal... I just assumed they were supposed to be that way since BOTH were like that... I will contact CB and ask them on monday (second time calling cause they mis-machined some of the pins) if thats normal.........
this is really messed up if this is a regular thing that they don't check for or anything...
not that you got a sucky pair of pedals but that someone else knows what im talking about....
and what really makes me mad is that i have a set of 15 dollar 'bulletproof' brand flats that will spin for mins..... and they are about 3 years old.... never been serviced... and probably cant be serviced..... and my bro went with a pair of wahwahs that are perfect....
i sent the video and a letter to crankbro as well... ill post when i find out, and hopefully you post when you find out....
Bizzaro world? Whatever that means. Trying to help you out here, no need to insult.
Flat pedals aren't supposed to spin super fast. They're supposed to spin slower so they don't spin while off the pedals. Flat pedals are mostly used on DJ, Park and BMX bikes, so when doing no footed tricks the pedals remains flat where it was when your foot comes off of it.
A Wellgo MG1 which is a really good flat pedal uses a DU sleeve bushing, they don't spin very fast either.
Why is this a problem? I would rather have my pedals a little more sticky than spinning around like crazy. When they spin so freely it makes me think that they aren't greased anymore and the bearings have worn a serious groove in there...
Think about those huffy bikes with the cheap pedals that spin like mad, suffering years of use from kids...I don't want my pedals like that
My Wellgo MG1's are also "tight" and don't spin freely although I thought I read somewhere (maybe somewhere on these boards) that once they are "worn in" they'll spin more freely than when they were new. I love my MG1's too!
