Cracked Blur Frame

Got a crack on the weld where the seat tube meets the bottom bracket, just below the front deraileur. SC says crash replacement $200 for front triangle. Slow response from the guy in the warranty department but I'm going to do it. Was thinking about upgrading to LT2 but it will end up costing a pretty penny. Goind to have the bushings gone through as well while my LBS reassembles my trusty steed

Hey, you could be me: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=526261 and http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=530538

And I decided to take the deal on the LT2. Riddle for you? When is a $300 Blur LT2 REALLY a $1,000 Blur LT2? When you add the shock, shop time for the switch and all the little bits you'll need to do a component swap. But I'm still stoked to get the LT2, yes I am.

So... did you crash? Did the term of the warranty expire?

(I'm wondering why this qualifies as a crash replacement and they're not simply replacing the frame at no charge to you...)
Because I'm not the original owner :(
OAS, PM sent but if you get this sooner, how did you pull it off? Willie told me no go on the LT2, asked if I could apply any credit towards a new LT2 frame and he said no. I really want to get it and would not mind if it cost me a grand, I'm already going to be in it 4-500 once I go through the rear bushings and all. Can you help me out, let me know what you said to motivate him to upgrade you?

Bummer.

That's a good price for the new triangle though.
I'd glady pay the $1,000 for the upgrade to the new bike to be quite honest. I've voiced my findings to Willie at SC, lets hope he can help me out, heard good things about the LT2.
Just an update, Willie got his hands on a paint blemed Blur LT2 and it will be in the mail soon. Great guys up there, great service, great company!

Thanks Willie!
yeah, it gets busy on willie's desk mid-summer when people are out riding the most.

i had the same bike, same crack, i'm guessing same size (large?), same issue (not original owner). same resolution (only for an LT, LT2's didn't exist then :))
