Would love any insider information: course, terrain, distance, local must stop's, need to bring stuff, etc.

essentially things you wish you knew before you raced there...

They change up the course every year I believe... best bet is to get in early on friday and pre-ride the course.

in 2002 when I did it last the course was about 10.5 miles, and IMO was fantastic. everything from technical to fast to steep (up & down). we've been having a lot of rain here in NJ this year so I'd bring a set of mud tires just in case.
when we did the race it was a very dry summer. just our luck, after 2 months of no rain it rained that weekend. I'd guess 1/3 of the race was in the rain, much of that falling at night. my point is that you can never be too prepared.

There's nothing that I'd say you;d need to bring to Allamuchy taht you wouldn't normally bring, so If you've done a 24 hr race before you should be fine.

Raced there solo last two years. They change the course every year, not much changed last year. Have a topo map from last year at work. Will post later. They don't want you on the course/trails before the race however. Going up there this weekend
