Could 5mm really make this much difference?

Riding a Santa Cruz Blur LT and with some recent back pain I decided to move the 5mm spacer above my stem to below it to see if that little bit would help. I rode yesterday after making the change and immediately noticed that the bike seems to be tracking way better. I used to have to really concentrate to keep it on the line I wanted, but now it's like it knows exactly where I want it to go. Could just raising the stem 5mm really have that much effect or was I just more awake than usual?

raising your stem 5mm would shift your body around to a position that your back may find more comfortable for sure.

As for making the bike track better - if you told me it tracked better on the way down then I would readily believe that. If climbing steep technical and you say it tracks better I may be a bit :skep:

If it works for you and gets you on the bike w no pain / more frequent then perfect!
