Hey, this is pretty cool. I'm heading down in a couple of weeks and this will be helpful to have on my gps. Might be worth posting this on the las vegas visitors sticky. Thanks for the map!
Ok, Beta 0.20 is out there now. Should really be about every trail in Cottonwood now. Added streets in Blue Diamond and a few POIs. About all that's needed now is actual trail names.DesertDog said:For those with Garmin units and/or MapSource, something to check out.
Just started playing around with creating my own topo maps and did a quick, little something for Cottonwood. Still some more trails that need added and I want to put in the roads in Blue Diamond. If you have any track files with missing trails, send me an email and I can use them to update the map.
If you want to check it out, download the installer zip file at the link below. After installation, just start MapSource and select NV-CottonwoodTrailMap from your list of installed maps. To use for riding, just have the map loaded in MapSource and use the normal procedures to send to your gps unit.

To uninstall, just go into Control Panel, Programs and Features and right-click and uninstall the Cottonwood Trails Map.
Yes, Cottonwood is a special case in that the BLM doesn't recognize individual trails, outside of Techno. Instead they look at the area as a system of 'loops', though most are actually a network of trails that can make a few different loops. Got a link to the BLM trail map here.beagledadi said:"About all that's needed now is actual trail names."...I've thought about putting up a Google Earth detailed map and having people chime-in with what they call each section but never have. There's so many connector/off-shoot trails that it may get to complicated....I have a ton of BD rides logged on my Garmn Connect Acct. http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard?cid=376658 if you need more beta.....

Oh, I do plan on doing many more. Including:johnnyspoke said:D-dog, this is really cool. I bet if you could find the time to do Cowboy and Bootleg (any more systems close?) those would be really popular as well.
Great job!
