We'll be working on the Cache Mtn trail system. Long a staple of Bend's Big Fat Tour for its primitive and challenging riding. The trail system is recovering from multiple events of fire that give the trails a ride experience all their own. Come help out and learn about this trail system.

Date: March 22, 2014
Time: 10:00 A.M.
Meet: Sisters Elementary School, 611 East Cascade Avenue, Sisters, OR 97759
Work site: Cache Mountain area

Vegetation Natural environment Plant community Forest Wilderness

Our first work event will be this Saturday meeting at the Sisters Elementary School parking lot and carpool to the work site.

COTA will provide after work lunch and refreshments.

Please bring a hydration pack with water and a snack.
Be sure to bring appropriate layers to accommodate whatever the weather may be.

All COTA trail work events require the following safety measures:
All participants are required to have the following protective clothing and equipment:

Sturdy shoes or boots
Gloves
Eye protection with clear or light colored lens
Long pants
Due to COTA's insurance requirements and the inherent dangers of trail work, we must implement the following policy regarding children at work events:

For anyone 14 years of age or younger, we require one parent, guardian, or responsible adult for supervision of every four kids attending any COTA trail work events.
All minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian available to sign our waiver.
Anyone who arrives for a work event may be turned away if he/she cannot meet the above requirements.

Too far for me to make a work party, but I sure am excited that this area has not been given up on. I figured with BBFT removed from my list of best things to do all year that Cache Mtn. would only remain as a memory. Thank you COTA! I have had some of the best times on that trail...

I always liked the hoodoo races up there and later the BBFT. Glad to see it getting more attention.
