Hello Rashad,

Maelstrom frames are all painted and I expect them to be shipped to me on approx January 10th which will mean I will have them in my hands on approx February 1st.

I will have my build kit prices finalized right after the first of the year. (my project for the holidays)

Thanks for your interest in Corsair Bikes.

isn't that played out by now........been waiting a long time and still nothing...oh yeah next month, then next month....hopefully this is true.

Furthermore I wouldn't buy one....if they break are you going to have to wait till next month or the next month or the next month to get parts.....

makes you go.............. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The forums crack me up... :p The bikes went from "coolest in the universe" to "old and tired" without even hitting the market and nobody riding one.

But really, you think two years is too long to get a bike designed, tested and into production? If it was easy I think there would be a lot more new companies and a lot more innovation.

My 2 cents.

Yes yes sir, couldn't agree with you more. Maybe Corsair's "next month" policy is their way of saying three years from now. You'd think that if these frames were engineered to be "some of the greatest suspension designs in the world"-as said by their rep at Interbike that they'd want to get these things out fast. They've been over-hyping up these bikes for a very long time and all the consumer is told is "next month" just about any time anyone asks about them. Kinda makes me wonder if these bikes are really made out of cardoard and bubblegum.

I'll admit, I was extremely interested in getting one of these frames, but I kept hearing the whole 'next month' thing as well. I waited a bit, and then went with something else.

Seems like it'll be a solid rig, and I don't argue that 2 years is too long for testing etc, but you don't tell the people interested in your frame it's coming when really it's not. Had they said January 09 release to start with, I may be riding one this spring.

no doubt, it's an awesome frame, especaily with it's price tag.
indeed, I have bought one already, and should have it in eary Jan.

Corsairs are MIT, which is Made In Taiwan:thumbsup:
with Maelstrom, I also fit it with Sram Hammerschmidt, it rocks!!!
as it to the Maelstrom, it's already in production.

here are some photos I have found on Internet, if you guys are interested in details
however, it's written in Mandarin...good luck with it:D

I saw a konig at the canberra WC round being used by a oz female rider in the DH.

I also saw a crown in early november which is owned by a local bike mechanic in oz,he had it at work with him, so i ogled it for a little while.
Nice looking machine, looks way better in the flesh than in photos.
So i guess they are out there, just not in big numbers.

It is disappointing that the company couldn't get them out earlier. I REALLY wanted one, but as the Spring came and went, I needed a bike and bailed.

That being said, I have spent a little time on them (not the Crown) and they are very, very nice. The Konig is like riding a hard tail playbike that happens to have 5" of travel - low, carvy, stiff, manuals like crazy, blah, blah. I spent less time on the Maelstrom but it felt great - low, stiff, aggressive, slack. The suspension on that bike is something quite different and that may be hard to appreciate from the pictures. Because of this, I'm not surprised to see it taking so long to get to stores. The chain runs in a pulley to help with the feedback associated with a high pivot. Actually, all the bikes (except the Ducat) are fairly unique in their design and I think the company is doing just fine on their timeline on getting these bike to market. Just too bad they told us it would be sooner!

A Konig now? Damn dude, you're changing bikes like I change pants. :D
LOL yeah. I actually should've just kept the Bottlerocket with the 36 but I got the long travel fever. I want to go back to that "slopestyle" type of short travel gravity rig. If no one buys the Izimu and I get stuck with it for this season it wouldn't be the worst thing. I'm hoping it goes though, that orange Konig is calling my name. I'll probably end up offing it for way less than I should...

Here's the thing... Corsair has been pushing back their release dates, yes. But if you ask me, they are NOT the ones hyping their bikes leaving everyone disappointed.

I've seen post after post, NONE of which came from Corsair... and all of which came from random folks in the riding community.

So yes, the bikes have been hyped, but not by the company. So it's not like Corsair is leading people on. Last I heard they had anticipated the release of some frames by the end of summer, which they did. And they planned the release of their big bikes early 2009, which they look to be on track to doing.

So everyone can shut up, go back to riding their own bike, and wait for Corsair's bike to hit the market properly.

says the fruitloop who rides a bike from the company who is the king of making people wait till their frames come out, typically a good 6 months after they say they will....
