It looks like the weather will be awesome at Whiteface Downhill Park (Lake Placid, N.Y. site of the 1932 & 1980 winter olympics) and in the Adirondacks this weekend.

The trails are in great shape and we should have a good crowd this weekend. Since the trails start 2,500 feet above the base area it's always quite a bit cooler on the summit. Perfect to escape the heat, and there are actually quite a few swimming spots on the trails, even a waterfall you can lunch at.
We will also be providing the courtesy of picking up downhillers in our shuttle bus that want to take an extra long downhill run to the flume at the end of the day (30ft. cliff diving and local swimming hole). Trail no. 20 (lower connector) takes you 1.5 miles downhill bikers left right to the flume. I've never ridden from the top to the flume yet but it would be like a 45 minute to an hour downhill run losing 2700 feet of elevation, it's gotta be like 7 miles at least.

Gee thats really great!

I think I'll pack up the gear and family and we'll start driving tonight.
We might be there by Monday morning.

DH Mike, that place you work for sounds even better than Whistler!

Trails look nice I will be up (from CO) around Aug. 11 for a few days. Hope for good weather.
Optimism: The weather on 8-11 wil be perfect for downhilling and not many bugs left either.
Fact: The double teeter will be done. More projects will be complete. It will be 23 days before our big race.

DH Mike says it is, so it must be!

Yes the bugs should be better by then. My wife has a place in old forge and family in Placid so we know the area well. It will be nice to hit up some DH in the ADK's.
