Found a Fluid Delta at a second hand shop for $20. Had a look at it and noticed a bunch of quality parts on it
I believe the fork is 60mm travel

The bike, I believe it's a 19" frame.

. Good V-Brakes, but the pads are out of date and feel like metal on metal.

. 9 speed RD, will be swapped for the Sora 9 speed if it doesn't work.

.Good hubs, shame I can't mount a disc brake to the bike.

.Fork lock out if I want to ride to work in a little more comfort.

Here is a Hasa R3 road bike I bought for $15 without wheels from the same second hand shop over a year ago. This bike was set up and did ride, but it's a tiny frame and I got a more suitable sized bike so I gave up on it.

The other side of the frame is very badly sun bleached, so in its current condition I'm not going to bother, the frame will be stripped of paint and used as a custom painting practice frame.
.The bars look bent in this photo, I'm going to have to check this out.

The plan is to strip the Sora 2x9 parts off the Hasa R3 road bike and put them onto the Fluid Delta.
My biggest worry is that the Sora crankset won't fit the Fluid frame.
I have already tested the Sora brake levers on the Deore V brake, they work albeit the pull ratio is a little strange.

Yyou might need get a problem solvers or the brake version of tanpan to make the brifters work with mtb brakes.
They work pretty well, the pads just have to be closer to the rim itself which is fine as I have access to a Park tool truing stand to keep the rims straight.

Oooph...good luck. I'd invest money into a proper gravel bike myself, but keep us posted.
There's no fun in that, I want to build one myself :)
Currently I am only $35 into this not including fuel for 2 bikes with decent quality parts. I'll be less than $100 into this bike once it's finished, after new cables and bar wrap.

I am quite happy with the Fluid as I have ridden it a few times, the brake pads are not great, but the pads on the Hasa worked well when I rode it around.

Sorry for no updates, I planned on doing a full length video of me converting it and whatnot straight after I finished my friends bike repair. Life happened and I've been quite busy.

But I'm not giving up on this, I just need to buy a few parts so I can complete the bike without having to wait several weeks between things.
