I know c'dale makes a kit to convert 110 leftys to 80mm for use on 29ers, but can I take the 80mm lefty off my caffeine 29er and extend the travel to 110 for use on a 26" bike? I assume you could, unless cannondale has started making a 29" specific model.

Should be able to. If you take the adjustment knob and top cap off, per the "bearing reset" instructions, you will find some white/yellowish plastic shims that reduce the travel to 80mm. Pull them off and travel should be 110mm. Seems like you might need to change out a spring too in the 29er specific models. But it is probably not needed.

Maybe no need to change the top out spring but maybe change the shim stack... Not needed but it would be a bit better, maybe just ride it as is but change it next time it's in for a service.
