Conti Mountain King 2.4 as rear tire on 2005 Motolite?

Yes, I still ride a 2005 Motolite....my biggest gripe is finding a suitable all round trail tire to fit under the rear seatstay bridge support....
Anyone try a Conti Mountain King 2.4 on a 2005 Motolite yet?
I run my tires tubeless/tubeless converted.
My first choice Maxxis Ardent 2.25...doesn't fit..ok initially by about a mm but as the tire stretches after a few rides it starts buzzing the seatstay support....
Same for Maxxis Advantage 2.25's...
So I have been reduced to using Specialized The Captain 2Bliss 2.0 as a rear tire.
Looking for a wide tire that is not too tall.
The Ardents work fine for the varied terrain I ride in. Don't do much mud but sand, rock, loose over hardpack, hardpack.

2007 ML = Yes for 2.4 Conti MK.

Don't believe the rear triangle is different b/t 2005 and 2007.

I think the 2005 and 2007 are different. The 2005 had a narrow rear end.
