I rode Fort Rock earlier today. Beautiful day but there was about 1/2" too much snow on the ground. It was rideable but the snow was very dry which made it slow going and difficult. Sort of like riding on the beach. The studs could not hook up through the 3" we had here and as a result I was slipping and sliding and having trouble hooking up. Some foot traffic and a few cold nights to bring some crunch back to the snow will help impove conditions.

Same thing at FOMBA, 3-4". Snowmachine tracks were like riding in sugar. Singletrack that had had traffic actually wasn't too bad. Wide tires would have been better than studs though.
