This is listed as the "Middle Fork Payette River" mountain bike ride
on page 35 of the old "Mountain Biking in SW Idaho" book by Stephen
Stuebner and Stephen Phipps. IF Mother Nature is nice to the Crouch
area this week, I would like to ride this next Sunday. Anyone been up
there recently? Any snow on the road? Is it too muddy?

Thanks

I have't been up there yet this year. There are lots of great trails off of FS Road 698. I don't have that book, but I think you'[re referring to the trail starting just past Boiling Springs campground?

After this week's warm weather, I bet there won't be any snow, but the water crossings on the trail may be _very_ deep, and cold. Definitely wear wool socks. If I'm remembering the right trail, there are probably a dozen water crossings.
