Component Recommendations

Hey All:
I am old school and currently have the 9 speed rear setup. I am looking into a 1x11 setup. In the past I looked for upper end components (XTR, XO, XX, etc). These day I am less competitive and wonder if I should be more conservative with my parts selection. I am looking into SRAM components and initially started with XO1 components (Cranks, derailluers, cassettes, shifters, etc.). I found that the price to be unreasonably high. I did another search and found components for the GX line for less than 1/2 the price. But the dilemma is that I am use to investing in upper end components and have that preference. Honestly I can afford to go the expensive route but thought I would post to see if anyone has any advice on the topic. XO1 or GX??? Will I be disappointed either way?

Thank you for input. I find mountain bikers to be the nicest and most helpful people.

XO1 is probably the most cost-efficient. For chains and cassettes, XO1 and XX1 parts might cost a lot initially, but they're very durable. So much so that they cost LESS PER MILE than the lower end stuff.

In terms of feel, X01 and GX felt very similar to me.

NX on the other hand, sometimes has funky shifts.

Can't speak for durability as I probably only ride under 300 mi a year.
