Thanks FM, I'm familiar with that site.
Didn't really need 1100 way points. Was hoping someone had a file of just segment 6B.
I have segment 1 thru 4 recorded at 300 ft increments. If anyone needs a copy PM me your email.

thanks

Are you looking for ONLY the Colorado trail (South of Jefferson Lake to Breck), or the trail connection that goes north from Jefferson lake, loops West and hooks back into the Colorado trail before you hit Georgia Pass (then to Breck)?

Hi lidarman,
Trip plan is to start at Jefferson Lake and head West to Break via CT.
For some reason I thought the CT passed right by Jefferson Lake. Thank you for letting me know there's a connector trail.

dangerDan, PM sent thank you.

Yup. The CT passes south of Jefferson Lake, However, a common ride is to start and Kenosha, ride to Jefferson lake and make a lollypop back to the car. It's a great ride.

Dan will set you up.I think he has both options. The DH from Georgia Pass to Breck is a lovely tech fest.

Anyone heard anything about a CT segment 6B reroute?

On another forum I'm a member of I received a PM saying:

The trail has been rerouted away from the Swan River Road. Going west after the Missouri Gulch blue symbol the trail goes high. The trail is about 10,200 at Missouri Gulch, but goes up to almost 11,200 before you get to Highway 9.
SO I guess there's a second climb now.

Just follow the signs. As someone else insinuated... if you can't follow the CT from Kenosha to Breck just using your eyes this whole mt biking thing MAY not be for you. :D

And for the record - the CT crosses quite a LONG ways south of Jefferson Lake. And the Jefferson Creek trail (to do the "lollipop" mentioned above) doesn't really go very close to Jefferson Lake either.

That re-route mentioned (Missouri Gulch/West Ridge) has been in place for at least 15 years IIRC.

To those that offer to help... Thanks you very much.

There's a sign every 50 feet the ENTIRE length of the CT. It really is that well-marked. It has been since at least 1993.

Geez. Toughen up, Nancy. I was just joking.

If people like me are keeping you off a site like this you may want to reconsider this whole internet thing... it may not be for you.
