One pic below from Saturday's epic-tech fest. No photoslop involved--it really looks like that.

Mike mike mike...you really shouldn't be riding a 29er on that terrain.:nono: The wheels are much too weak and the spokes way too long to support that type of riding.

please immediately get back on to your regularly scheduled 5" travel bike with 26" wheels that are "strong."

Keep banging that drum, dude.

I didn't even look at the bike he was riding. I don't care. The bike is simply a tool used to participate in the activity. Which tool you use is up to you.

hey dude,
try relaxing a bit, eh?
remember, this is only the internet.
(p.s. why are you on the 29er board stressing about people being passionate about 29ers? why not go over to the weight weenie board and carry out your whining there? ;) )

Not whining so much as laughing. This constant proselytizing about all other bikes being so inferior is humorous... or sad.
I have 2 29'ers. (Well, 1 and 1/2 until my next wheelset arrives) I think they're great. Do i beat people over the head with it on group rides? Nope. Same with the whole singlespeed thing. That's pretty much all i ride these days. Do i care of the person i'm with is on a singlespeed, or a 29'er? Why should i?

I just don't understand the need to try and make people more like me. If that's what they want to ride, great. If not, that's fine.
