Sorry if this has been covered, but my searches aren't turning anything up.

I have a problem with the front derailluer on my 05 Coilair. If I adjust it low enough on the seat tube to shift correctly, the chainstay smacks it during big hits that take the shock to near full compression. If I raise it high enough to avoid being hit by the chainstay, the chain drags something fierce on it when on the small chainring and shifting is a bear.

Any solutions would be appreciated!

You should adjust the height of the de so the chain rides on the bottom of the front de when it is in a stand however when you sit on the bike and it sags the chain should clear the bottom of the front de.
