Coil or Air shock on a '08 Reign X0

At the end of last season I picked up a new Reign X0 frame which came with a DHX 4.0 Air shock. The stroke on this was 2.0" rather than 2.25", so I swapped it out with a Marzocchi Roco TST-R coil which is 2.25 (same i2i which is 7.875).
Now my issue is the leverage rate on this bike is much different than the single pivot the Roco used to be on so now the shock feels undersprung. Solution, buy a heavier spring. But meanwhile a buddy offered up a DHX 5.0 Air.

My question is, which would be the better move? Go back to the air shock but 2.25" DHX 5.0 with ProPedal, BottomOut, etc, or stick with the Marz coil (obviously find the heavier spring)?

Before I spend money on either a spring for the Marz or this DHX I'd like to get some feedback.

Thanks.

I have an 08 Reign X also. It has the Air 5.0 and I love it. It came with the DHX 3.0 coil, which, no matter what spring I ran, I couldn't dial in the way I wanted. I like the faster adjustability of the Air, but so you know, you'll have to trim the propedal lever on any DHX air shock 09 or newer. It won't fit through the "glory hole" when pointed down otherwise. A little grinding with a dremel fixed it for me.

I have a ? for you though. That bike should have come stock with a 7.875x2.25 shock. I'd be curious to know why yours had the 2.0 stroke. That came on the regular reign, not the X, so I wonder if somehow you got jipped.
I just recently swapped from a DHX Air 4.0 to an Elka coil on my 09 Reign, and there is no way I would go back to an air shock. The bike is so much smoother over rough stuff, and little bumps both.

This ^^^

I replaced the DHX Air 4.0 on my '10 Reign to a Fox Vanilla (7.875x2.25 to get the extra 1" off travel to) and it is SOOO much better.
