For those of you coming to the Ocoee River area for the first stop on the 2011 NUE series, the Cohutta 100, I have a lodging deal for you!

For $50, you'll get (2) nights bunkhouse style lodging, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and shuttle to / from the Ocoee Whitewater Center (start/finish line). Saturday night we'll also have a nice campfire where you can sit with a cold drink and relish in the victory of your accomplishment and share stories with fellow racers. Saturday dinner will be steak / grilled chicken style! Did I mention hot showers?!

I've worked this deal with a partner business I'm working with -- Whitewater Express. You can call them and make the reservations directly. 1-800-676-7238. Tell them you're registering for the Atlanta Outfitters Cohutta 100 package and they'll take care of you.

Pictures of the lodging are posted at
PICS HERE

Hopefully you'll want to come back to the area and ride with us. I'm offering guided trips in the area that include mtn biking, rafting, hiking, and any combination. for example, I have a multi-sport day where we ride from the outpost to the Hiawassee River, kayak the Hiawasee (class I-III) then ride back over the mountain -- for a truly epic day of play!

As a fellow finisher of C100, I hope you find this offer will make your travel less stressful and your race more enjoyable! I look forward to seeing you there!

Charles, you may have changed my mind about doing Cohutta again, last year I rented a cabin with some friends from out of town, but they all bailed this year. A few quick questions....Kitchen facility to heat up food in the AM? Yes or No? and may sound odd, but whats the bathroom situation like SAT am....don't want to be waiting in line with 20 people to 1 bathroom.....i'm sure you know what I mean. I would probally just stay friday night and drive over to the race and leave after to head home. Thanks for putting this option together,

AC

AC,
You're welcome. Like I said, I've done C100 and many other enduros and I just felt like this was a good thing to do and help promote MTB with a great local outfitter and use some awesome facilities to make the race easier.

Bathrooms: the only time I think you'd be waiting to use a bathroom at WWE is when they are at a capacity booking of 800+ people. The bathrooms are not port o johns, either. I don't have pictures of the inside of them but they are nice.

Kitchen: the main kitchen will not be available but if you need a stove or something, I'll set up an outdoor kitchen complete with propane stove, table, pots/pans, utensils, water, etc for your use.

There are a couple people who have asked about Saturday morning breakfast and yes, we can do this. I didn't include it because I know everyone is different on race morning. If you have something you would like us to take care of, drop me an email and let's line it up.

Other questions: post 'em up or drop me an email.

Last Sunday I rode the ~30 miles of singletrack on the Cohutta course and it was super sweet. If you're on the fence about doing this race, hop off the fence and hop on your bike because this is gonna be a good one. If you just want to dip your toes in the water (like me), there is a 65-mile option.

Very nice singletrack.

this is great...a few questions...

how early will you have shuttles going?
Yes, please do the outdoor kitchen.
may we bring some refreshing beverages for Saturday night?

I don't have a specific time on the shuttle runs just yet, but the first one will likely be 90 minutes before start or however early the first person wants to get there!

Refreshing beverages are permitted.

Thanks Charles!

Thanks Atlanta Outfitters!

Had a Great time!

I am very pleased with how the logistics, meals, and all worked out.

Highly recommend the package's shuttle service! That meant I could leave even more out there on the trail.

Thanks again,

Mark Barnett
