Here is my home made Cockpit Set-up Protractor that uses a cut down protractor a couple of small bearings and a weighted pointer. Now your able to get both sides of your gear set too the exact same degrees or 1/2 degree. Just simple get one side of your equipment set then place on the protractor then zero so the pointer is at 90 degrees. Transfer the tool to the opposite twist each item until the reading is the same and nib up the clamps.
Doesn't matter what slope the bike is on during this process just as long as it remains on the same slope during the set-up and each time you move onto the next thing just zero so the pointer is on 90 degrees again.
