I am currently using a 2000 model Z3 BAM 80, which I bought used a few months ago. In the last week or two it has been making some 'clunking' noises, usually during the rebound. At the same time it does not seem as smooth as before. Anyone have ideas as to what may cause this? My LBS did the install, and checked out the fork and the oil levels for me. I really like the fork, and it's not really worth replacing with anything fancy (it's on a 1997 RM Hammer), so I'd like to fix it if possible.

Springs hitting upper tubes from inside. Take the top caps off and wrap your springs with some rubber (old tube will work, make sure it's clean of powder). Reinstall top caps and ride around; it it doesn't help, I don't know...
